BUTLER TUBE DRIVER

What We Say: The Tube Driver has a long and rich history. It is one of the most sought after pedals and with good reason too! Having acquired one myself I can say this is a great pedal, you can also check out two reviews of this pedal in the reviews section.

The Tube Drive is available in two forms, the four knobber and the five knobber. The five knobber is exactly the same as the four knob version but with an extra knob on the back, as shown in the picture, allowing you to bias the tube inside. This is a great feature allowing you to essentially simulate any type of tube from a low gain 12EU7 right up to the gain monster of a 12AX7. This is done by staritng with a 12AX7 tube and limiting the voltage that is supplied to it. It is a great feature and well worth the extra cash, it saves a fortune on swapping out different tubes to see which works best in your particular situation.

The Tube Driver has been used by all the great including Satriani, Johnson, Gilmour, Billy Gibbons etc and is still incredibly popular to this day. It may seem like a pricey unit but when you plug in for the first time you will FEEL what the magic is all about. This pedal makes you want to play more!

What They Say: ”…Due to the interest generated lately regarding my limited production of original 4-knob Tube Driver pedals, here are the details:

I’m building approx. 6 units every week.

Those who want to reserve a unit, please contact me via email:bk@butleraudio.com

Expect the normal build time to be 7 – 10 days, but I will give you an estimated shipping time when you place your order.

The design and sound is the same as the original (as supplied to Eric Johnson, David Gilmour, etc) but with improved parts such as Switchcraft all metal jacks, click pots, etc.

Each unit is hand built to my specs and I personally check out each Tube Driver to perfection. Then I engrave my signature on the bottom of the case. This insures authenticity now and in the future!

The cost is $299 each, no quantity discount. Please either pay in full in advance or 50% up front and the balance before shipping. I prefer PayPal payment: bk@butleraudio.com or you can call in your credit card order to: 303-766-4504. Shipping is $12 within the 48 states. Canada is $25 USPS Global Express. Foreign orders welcome. Just tell me the voltage in your country. The USPS Global Express mailing cost is $45 additional.

The custom variable “Bias” mod—with additional custom 5th control (I made several of these for Eric Johnson and Joe Satriani) is available for $125 extra and may take a few additional days for me to build. The Bias control allows you to adjust the tube characteristics over a wide range. It’s like changing the types of tubes anywhere from a weak 12EU7 to a blistering 12AT7.

220-240V, 50-60Hz is available at the same price, but I supply onlywith the USA style plug as shown. (You will need to get either an adaptor or re-install the correct AC mains plug for your country).
